anyone use one? I just ruined my 3rd keyboard this year and it's pissing me off (not to mention expensive as hell). Where does one get one?

I'll never forget the day I spilled an entire glass of lemonade on my (then) brand new imac keyboard...A Hundred dollars for a replacement. Dude at the computer store said if I had just immersed it in water immediately it would have been OK...But lemonade is a great conductive for electricity and that was why it shorted out...

5. ... what are you doing to your keyboards? |
|
Seriously, I've had the same one for years. It's lasted me through three computers now just fine. And it's just a cheap old Microsoft one.

6. spilling drinks on them |
|
The cheaper lesson would be to not drink at my keyboard but I put in a good 8-10 hours on it a day working and no way can I not have water. Maybe I could learn to be less clumsy but at my age I think it's highly unlikely.

8. That, or find a water container that won't spill as easily. |
|
I've used keyboards with plastic covers on them before, they work just fine but they do take a bit away from the sensitivity. If you've got light typing fingers it might get in the way.

11. I think I should be kept away from keyboards -- I just spilled water in another one!! |
|
I just spilled water on the cheapo Dell keyboard that came with the computer. Cheapie or not this one is still working whereas the $50 microsoft keyboard shorts out with water. Go fucking figure!
Thanks for the suggestions all. I'm definitely going to order a "condom" for my keyboard, because clearly I'm not going to stop spilling water into it :eyes:
