I decided years ago that I wasn't going to get old...
but I must've forgotten to tell my body.

One day a week or so ago, Kelly Ripa did this little thingie with the Nicks City Dancers. I sat there watching it...crying like a baby. These days commercials make me cry. ANYTHING will set me off, it seems. Hormones suck. As do mood swings (if I'm not crying over something, it seems like I'm annoyed by it) -- which I think are caused by said sucky hormones. Tell me this is gonna stop.

x(

And then, today I was getting out of the car...tripped and fell...and apparently now a skinned knee and elbow is waaaaaay more painful than I remember it. When did all this happen?

Sheesh.

2. I was in a History class today...
(I'm 53, retired, but finishing an MA) and the subject of Watergate came up, which is only something out of the history books to these young undergrads...and the professor (20 years my junior) looked at me and said "What do you remember about Watergate, you were alive then...

And every face in the room was suddenly looking at me like I was some kind of mysterious fossil.

I wanted to crawl out of there...

3. hang in there.
It gets worse, but your gradual loss of the ability to feel it getting worse will eventually outpace the decrepitude. ;-)

I'll be another year older in the morning. Ukk. Where did it go?

4. A lot of people didn't get old enough to feel the changes.
At least we are still alive to post about how unfair it is.

Getting old sucks, but the alternative is even worse.

(Happy birthday!)
