Update on my Mom:
Hi all, here I am again, still exhausted. x(

Anyway, my Mom is being released tomorrow, to an acute rehabilitation facility. She will be there for a week to 10 days. She will be getting 3 hours a day of physical, speech, and occupational therapy. She will also be directly seen by a physician every day.

The place is closer to home than Worcester, but still 45 minutes away. And a good deal farther from me than Worcester is.

And that's all I know right now. I saw her last night, she was tired, since she just had the surgery yesterday afternoon.

:hi:

1. Try to get some rest, kiddo *hugs* Glad mom is going to be in a good place
for getting the help she needs, but it's a bummer how far away it is. :(

2. That's the thing, I sleep and sleep and sleep, yet
I don't feel rested at all. It's bizarre.

3. I agree with GPV -- try to get some rest now.

Your mother should be in good hands for the next week or so.

on edit: I saw your reply to GPV. If you haven't done so already, remove sleep disruptors from your routine as much as possible -- switch to decaf, cut out or cut down on alcohol, and spend the last half hour of the evening in quiet time (reading, playing with the cats, etc.)

4. Glad to hear she's getting out...
a rehab center is much better than a hospital for her spirits I'm sure. Maybe not for her mood, but that's different.

Hope you're able to really relax soon and get some good rest.

5. Glad she's going to a rehab instead of directly home.

7. Sleep's not a problem...Eating, on the other hand...
hasn't been going so well. I ate lunch on Monday, I think I may have eaten something late Tuesday night, Wednesday I made Carbonara and ate that, yesterday I had a ham sandwich. I really need to eat more. Might be why I'm so exhausted, eh?

8. yes and you need to keep hydrated as well.
i know it's difficult to take care of yourself when caring for another but you just have to.

6. Rehab is good
And it sounds like the care is good too. Try not to worry too much (impossible, I know); it sounds as though she's in good hands. And I'll chime in on the chorus, hoping you can get some rest.

9. Sounds like they're taking good care of her.
And that the brief stay at the rehab will be a good transition for her--I'm sure that's a big, big change to adjust to.

As for you, young lady--try to do something for yourself this weekend. Long bath, veg out in Starbucks for half an hour, have sniffa give you a foot rub--just something to bring your stress level down a little.

Keep hanging in there. :loveya:
