x(

I have two today, so I had to drive across town. Nobody showed for the first, so I kept myself busy for a few hours (it didn't make sense to drive back home, but I'd really rather have stayed there until I was needed) and the person I'm supposed to meet for the second is running late and I'm betting he's flaked too.

The only thing worse than irresponsible students is irresponsible faculty. :eyes:

2. Or respect, apparently.
Needless to say, I didn't get a phone call or email canceling either.

I'm waiting ten more minutes, and if this kid doesn't show I'm going to get lunch and go home. I'm incredibly irritated- I'm really busy this week and don't really have half a day to waste.

3. That really stinks,
and it's behind my obsessive need to confirm meetings before I drive all over hell and gone to attend them.

4. ouch-- I blew off a mtg with one of my grad students this morning...
...but I DID call and talk to her, set up another meeting early next week, and I've got a reasonable excuse (having trouble walking due to plantar pain).

For undergrads though, I just say "fuck it." They're lucky I even acknowledge their existence. It's an honor to be stood up by someone as lofty as myself.

:hide:

Did I mention that I've got good drugs, too?

5. I don't mind at all when people cancel with notice.
Eventually the student showed up, but he didn't have any of the materials he was supposed to bring. :eyes:
