Anyone Else Have Absenteeism Policies Designed By Crackheads?

Where I work:

each "occasion" of absence (whether its one day or 42 days in a row) counts against you

If you are sick, and go in, they can tell you to leave and it counts against you

If you call in it counts against you

6 call ins in a year can be termination

health care facility

guess how many sick people are working so they don't get fired?

ever wonder why people get sick in hospitals?

1. I retired from working in a state hospital.

Nazis all around, but especially in HR - Horrible people to work for.

Retired long ago, still trying to get over the staff there.

3. We don't even get sick days.

We have to use vacation time.

I'm chronically ill and have used up my sick leave for the year..THREE WEEKS (one of which was my Mayo trip though)

8. I work in a health care facility

and the policy is a little less harsh than the one you're dealing with but it still sucks because it's clear they want people at work even if they're sick.

A lot of people I work with, nearly 1/3 of the work force, are on FMLA because the employer cannot give them consequences for calling in with FMLA. The result is that those of us not on FMLA get hammered for calling in sick, so we work sick and make others sick.

Makes me crazy to think about it sometimes.

9. Oh lord, I read that as "abstinence policies"

I got confused about how being abstinent counted against you. I followed that up by wondering how to get a job there...
