3. I want that too but I just moved and threw away a whole bunch of stuff,
Edited on Fri Nov-21-08 07:37 PM by Breeze54
including my old, beat up, piece of crap "desk". My son said he's going to get me a new desk and chair that is small enough for me. I tried out a bunch at Staples and my feet were dangling or it felt like an ejection seat!! :P I have an old 'antique' table now and a very uncomfortable chair. And my computer died and the one I'm on now isn't powerful enough to load all that we are using on our network, so he wants to get a new one for the both of us! :D

4. I ain't getting shit for xmas
We've agreed to spend minimal amounts because we're getting ready to buy a house. Compensation is that we'll host a large dinner and badger all our relatives to join us, so we'll have a great day.

9. I don't know if I qualify for heating assistance
I am in the middle of a separation/divorce situation. I am afraid to ask for the assitance because I am in a house that is more than I can afford right now to begin with and I am scared I will lose the house. I have the mortgage payments covered, and if I am very diligent, then I am covered. Plus, they can't disconnect me during the actual winter months because my daughter lives here.

A Scooba is a floor cleaning robot:

I have all hardwood floors and I despise mopping.

10. You are now a single parent with a minor child?
If so, you probably qualify depending on income.

It can't hurt to apply anyway. All they can say is no, right?

But apply early before they run out of money.

11. Thanks for the suggestion.

I will call them next week. I feel really strange doing it. I guess I still haven't accepted my fate.

I tried to register Little MB in the SCHP program, but I would have had to let her current coverage lapse for 6 months for her to even be considered :(

12. Don't feel strange... everyone does it!!
;)

I don't have to anymore, as my new place has heat and hot water included, thank the higher power
but I have applied in the past and it really got me out of the proverbial hole. That's what that
money is allocated for... take advantage of the help! Why not? You're a taxpayer! ;)
