Muffy, My Guinea Pig passed away...age 7+ |
|
My darling little gp,Muffy, passed today. She was 7 years 2 months old. Her cagemate, Creampuff, passed a year ago November.
Muffy died of old age, I believe. She had lost weight, wasn't eating as well. Her urinary tract sensitivity had flared up and last night she was bleeding as I picked her up to give her some water with an eyedropper. She put up a little fight at the indignity.
It was just after midnight, Leap Day, when I checked her. I had her warm with a heat lamp. She looked beautiful.
Sometime between then and around 6:30 AM her little heart stopped. I woke up and in my mind saw her birth and death dates as if she had a gravestone. When I went to her, she was lying on her side. I knew then.
I buried her in a lovely tissue box, wrapped in a towel with some carrots to send her on her way.
RIP Muffy, my little angel.

Guinea pigs are wonderful, sweet little beings, and I know how you must be feeling the loss of your friend, esepcially after so many years. Big HUGS to you... and remember that Muffy will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you to rejoin her some day.
We had a sweet black bunny named Muffin whom we called Muffy. He passed on almost seven years ago, but we still miss him today.

and it breaks your heart, no matter what kind of animal it is when it passes on. I'm sure she had a happy life while she was with you. May Muffy rest in peace.

11. Thanks to all...in the gaping hole of the |

space where she lived, I now have some beautiful plants.
She was having her ups and down. A few days ago, she was having a good spell...standing up, little paws on the side of the cage, and squealing for treats at dinnertime.
I knew her time was near because she was eating less and she was favoring 'treats' instead of her grains. Friday night she at a load of lettuce. Her last little meal on Saturday night was a sliver of apple.
Such a sweet little girl....I feel so blue...esp. when I look over to where she used to be..
