A pad for your bed - what kind do you like? Memory foam or regular foam? |
|
My mattress is just too firm, and have decided that a foam pad may fix the problem. Do you use a pad? What kind? Does it help?

3. Do you ever notice what oktoberain mentions? |
|
How the memory of the foam makes rolling over a drawn out affair as the foam adjusts itself?

4. I know what he means, but it doesn't bother me much, it's not all that noticable. |

2. I have a STACK of pads. |
|
All normal egg-crate foam, under a sheet that's a size large.
I have rather severe fibromyalgia, and even a slight amount of pressure anywhere near my upper body/shoulders/upper arms/etc. becomes extremely painful after a few hours in a normal bed. Therefore, we have stacked foam pads on the mattress to a thickness of about 8 inches, so I can lay down comfortably and manage to sleep most of the way through the night. I don't like the memory foam stuff--it's hot, and it feels really weird whenever I try to turn over--like it has to "re-adjust" itself. Yuck.
Someday I'd like to have a really nice, extra-soft, extra-pillow-top mattress. Until we can afford to replace ours, I make do with the foam padding.

6. we have memory foam on top of a water bed. Eliminated need for heating the |

water and the waterbed is great for no pressure points. I have slept on my daughter's Tempurpedic and it is ok, but I really prefer the water bed. We fill it fairly firmly, but it still gives the floating feeling. This is by far the best waterbed topper we have ever come up with.
When my husband turns over in it I get a wave though because he is heavier than I am, but he does travel quite a bit so most often it is just kitties and me. Kitties love it.

5. Got a memory foam pad this summer... |
|
...and I love it. This is after years of using those egg crate type foam pads that all the stores sell.

7. Our spring coil bed came with a memory foam top. It's lovely. I call it my cloud bed. |
