Lack of exercise is part of it, but in 2001 I looked damn good - not that anyone wanted to date me anyway.

By 2003, things were different. Thanks to a misdiagnosis and "medication" that slowed my metabolism.

I know there are a million things in life a person can have, and there are a million things one can't. If I knew a special someone was out there, I'd work to get the weight off. And I should, if only for my own health - and try to outlive everyone else because everyone's just another wastrel in the end.

Besides, I'm 36. When my gut is SMALLER than many 20 or even 8 year olds, there's a greater problem afoot.
