A Christmas story vs. Miracle on 34th Street
The theatre company that I volunteer with, just did It's a Wonderful Life. The show did really well. So, we want to do something again next year. I think we should do one of the above. Just not sure which. Both have their pros and cons as far as staging a theatrical production.

So, which one do people like better?

1. A Christmas Story.
Funnier, edgier, yet still a classic.

3. For a local play, I think "Miracle on 34th Street" would be better
Partly because I think it would work better, but I also think a lot of "A Christmas Story" magic is tied up with the actors in the movie. People would be bound to make comparisons (I also think it would be harder to stage).

12. Not just who plays whom, but the voice-over would be a pain.
Much of Ralphie's dialogue comes from his older self retelling his story. Although you can certainly stage that (think of old-time radioplays), I don't think the effect would be nearly the same nor as good as the movie.

There would be a LOT of set-changes, too.

7. Isn't that a Musical?
Don't really want to do that. Plus the idea is to do something well known. I am not sure how known it is.

8. I don't think it is.
They do it routinely here at our local theatre. I think one of the reasons is that you can get a lot of children involved.

11. Go for "Die Hard." Great Christmas flick. I would say "Love, Actually," but
there are a lot of scene changes, and some naughty bits, and that might be hard for theatre troupe.
