I started reading "American Lightning" by Howard Blum and it is
featured in the New York Times Sunday Books review (11-23). How do you like that? It's about the Los Angles Times building being bombed to zero on October 1, 1910. I lived there for years and never heard about it!!! Pretty neat book with D.W. Griffith, Harrison Gray Otis (who hated unions with a passion), Claarence Darrow, Billy Burns (dubed the American Sherlock Holmes), and the plan to steal water from the Owens Valley. Maybe it would not be of interest to those who aren't familar with Los Angels but it sure is interesting and moves along quickly.
