Chocolate fondue with strawberries and other fruit. Sinfully delicious. We have a restaurant downtown here called the "vesta dipping grill" and they have regular fondue. Problem is, it costs about $50.00 a person. Us cab drivers used to argue about who was going to pick up the owner at closing time because he always tipped with a coupon free for two meals. I never got one, though. I was too low on the totem pole.

Everything is ala carte and before drinks you end up spending $65 a person.

We have a melting pot too. But it's way south of Denver. I have a B-day coming up next week and my Mother always takes me to eat where ever I want. (I only get to go out to eat 2-3 times a year) and I considered the melting pot. It's just too much of a pain to get to.
So this year for my B-day, we are going to an all you can eat Chinese buffet! mmmmmmmm!

8 oz chopped bittersweet chocolate 8 oz chopped milk chocolate 1.5 cups heavy cream 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground cloves 1.5 tbsp real vanilla extract
In a sauce pan, put the cream, half the chocolate and bring to medium heat. As the chocolate melts add the rest of the chocolate and stir until fully blended. Add the cinnamon, the cloves, and the vanilla extract. Transfer to fondue pot or small crockpot and keep on low to medium heat. Serve with strawberries, bananas, pound cake, cookies, or whatever strikes your fancy.

I wonder if I could substitute the raspberry extract I recently found for the vanilla. I think that would work well with fresh apples. Hint: apples will not turn brown if you dip them in Sprite, or a similar lemon-lime soda, right after cutting them up.

7. I think raspberry extract would be divine in the chocolate. |
|
I will try the Sprite with the apples next time I cut them up.
