Can anyone recommend Ipod speakers?
I want to get some for my boyfriend for Christmas. God knows he has everything else but he is currently using some cheap computer speakers (on their last legs) that I gave him. They will be used with either an Ipod touch (although he might not keep that and might get a Nano instead). He also has a shuffle, which I already know will only be compatible by using the AUX input of most stereos. That's okay. I really don't want to spend more than $100. So no Bose (I think they might be a rip-off anyway).

Does anyone have some that they like?

1. Try these - Bose for $99

I've bought at least 10 of these computer speakers for gifts and for myself.

A lot of speaker for under $100

7. I guess what I am looking for is a docking station.
I know Bose has some but they are pricey.

2. This one goes on sale for $100ish, and it sounds brilliant.

I think Target had it for $89 a while back. Probably will again for Christmas, I'd bet.

There's also a micro version that's consistently under $100, but I don't know how it sounds. I think somebody else on here has that one, if you ask I'm sure you'd get feedback on it.

8. I'll look for them.
He lives in an apartment so will have to limit the volume. I just need something good enough I suppose.

3. I bought skull candy ones from target
They are purple to match my new purple iPod! I think they have a great sound, they were under 50 bucks from Target and they have three different size covers to fit inside your ear.

4. JBL's
OnStage. (I think they now have a smaller version for less.) I tried out a ton of docks and this had the biggest sound. I've never figured out the maximum volume, but it seems to go big with no distortion. My son (who's inherited all my old gigantic speakers) resents the small size and "pretend" stereo of any of these, but had to admit this is one of the best he's heard. Sounds best in a smaller room, of course, but still very respectable in my great room.

16. I have an Altec Lansing speaker dock for my iPod, and it's GREAT.
Best Buy may have a good price on them, around $100.

18. Do you really want speakers, or would an iPod-RCA jack just work better?
If it's for home use and your boyfriend has a good sound system already, just jack into it. Then spend your Christmas money on something kewl, like mint M&Ms.

19. He doesn't have a sound system at all.
Just an cheap, old CD player/small boombox thing. It doesn't even have an auxiliary jack.

I actually found an Emerson brand that has cd player too. But I am not sure it works with an Ipod touch or the new Nanos, which he says is what he wants.
