Good morning Lounge
How are you? Did you have a good start into the week?

I had a really strange dream last night. A violent dream. Someone got beaten up while I was sitting in the car. Didn't watch anything violent before I went to bed. No idea where that dream came from. Sure enough woke up with a start.

good morning :hi:

34. of course!
the minute the IT guy leaves everything breaks down. It's a law of the universe.

I'm busier than I expected to be today. This is the last day before a lot of people start taking off for Thanksgiving so they are trying to get a lot done, consequently I'm busy. I'll be in tomorrow, which should be extremely quiet.

I registered for my first grad class yesterday, and now I'm excited. It's "Science Fiction film in the 20th century" - how cool is that. Actually, I think the title is almost redundant, since almost all of film has been in the 20th century, so far.

36. The day after the computer guy vanished for 3 weeks
and me not really knowing it ... first the internet went down (more than once - figured that out fortunately), the cashier broke down (no idea how that is supposed to get fixed, they called the company) and now what looks like a virus (so far I know of 3 PCs in the network that showed that problem) ...

I think you get the idea.

Well, we are almost 9 years into the 21st century :D

Oh ... and I do have my job to do in between too :D

49. I don't know if we can pick movies,
but I would make sure we watched "Metropolis" and I'm hoping for some really silly ones like "Plan 9 from Outer Space". I'm really looking forward to it, the course description said it would be an historical look at scifi film - with films like "Star Wars" and "Bladerunner" so I'm hoping it's good. It's being taught by the head of the department, and she is definitely an interesting woman to talk to.

Nice pic; that your backyard? :D

Here's a dream-dictionary for ya: The Curious Dreamer

Violence or people who commit violence can represent:
Actual or feared persecution, hostility, aggression, criticism, or attack
Hostility, hatred, intolerance of whatever is being attacked
Insecurity, or fear of whatever is being attacked
Feeling threatened
Lack of compassion, understanding, reverence, or respect of others
Feeling that the world is an unfriendly place
A current or recent situation where you feel your boundaries were crossed or your integrity been compromised

Wish it was my backyard. But it is in Sweden on Gotland.

Thanks for the dream dictionary. But I can't say any of that fits  Maybe it was just the images of the turkeys being slaughtered behind Sarah Palin I saw yesterday evening. Or it was Sarah Palin herself :scared:

53. I refuse to watch that video.
Even if I wasn't vegetarian, I still wouldn't watch it. Stuff like that bothers me. The movie "Baraka" has scenes of the little chicks being "processed" and tossed down various shutes while still alive. I love the movie, but that part can only be viewed with your heart turned off :(

Perhaps it was Palin that triggered your dream. Was she the one doing the beating? Trying to improve morale? ;)

The dictionary is just a fun thing. Plug in other elements of the dream and see what comes up.

Here's an actual backyard view (not mine, but my parents'.) :)

to cover 3 days and I always off Sat and Sun off so it adds up. It was la st minute thing last night. A co-worker needed my advice and assistance. My expertise can not be denied ;) :D

It is really not OT because I will not work a full 40 hours this week. But I did have to stay longer than the required 8 hours. That happens almost nightly though. Maybe just 15 minutes, maybe an hour, maybe 4 hours. Stuff happens and blows well laid plans wide open where I work.
