11. We only had 1 car during the first 2 years we were married
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 04:07 PM by lizziegrace
the rest of the time, we each had a car. So those are all the cars we had in 18 years plus the '69 Catalina I had in HS and the Volare I had in college.

A couple were leases, a couple were cargo vans he used to haul drums.

12. One chevette, years ago. POS. Since then, only Fords.
I don't understand the whining about American quality. I've had Ford Escorts and now a Focus, and had great luck with them. If Ford goes away, I don't know what I'll drive.

We were impoverished...

26. I did have on client who had a very nice 65 mustang in her garage
but drove a fairly new volvo.

We got talking about cars one day, and she said the volvo was the first car she'd ever purchased (she's about 47 yrs old). I said "you mean the first *new* car?". Nope, first car.

Turns out her mom had the mustang, and gave it to her at 18 along with an understanding that she would only have to pay for the insurance on it. She drove it until 2005. And this is in Dallas where there is no public transportation to speak of.
