Animal kharma- we found out yesterday that our cat Siggy does indeed |
|
have FIP and isn't long for this world. He's been sitting on my husband's lap most of the day while my husband works at the computer. My daughter came home from school with the news that her friend will have some kittens to place after Christmas. If you make a place for a pet, one will turn up needing a home.

1. So sorry to hear about Siggy. |
|
I'm very sorry to hear that Siggy has FIP. I wish they could find a cure for that terrible disease.
I know that you will love him and cherish him for his remaining time.
I'm involved in cat rescue and currently have one with lymphoma, who also isn't going to be long for this world. I've had to train myself to stop wondering when he will leave because that keeps me from enjoying him while he's here. We all handle these things in our own way.
Comfort and hugs to you!

2. He seems to be fading away very quietly, just getting weaker and weaker. |
|
I don't think he's eaten or drunk any water since yesterday. I just hope he goes quietly with no pain. He was a blessing to us when he came into our lives since he comforted my husband as he recovered from surgery. We'll miss him.

3. Aw the poor baby!! Again, I'm so very sorry! |
|
I, too, hope his passing is calm.
They certainly do bring great things to our lives, don't they? They seem to sense when we need comfort, and they are right there to give it.
I know you will miss him. I am always so very grateful to hear of one that has been loved and valued during his time here on this earth.

I'm sure he knows you all love him & he will be sitting on the rail at the bridge waiting on you........
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Author unknown...
I know how it is when a beloved pet passes away. You are right about another fur friend finding their way to you, it happened to me last year when I lost my dog Angel. Two months later a little pup was sitting in my dog house when I arrived home from work.

I lost a cat to that when I was a kid. I'm very glad that I was too young to make the decisions about what to do about his health, and eventually having him put to sleep :(
