Artists/People who are good with color, help, please: |
|
Ok, I'm designing this *&!!?#%&&! poster, and I need help with the color scheme. The paragraph text will be black, in white boxes. I need a background color for the poster (think Powerpoint doc with a background and a bunch of text boxes) and a color for the headers inside each text box.
Background needs to be light, headers need to stand out, and not clash together.
Any help? I'm at my wit's end.
Thanks. :hi:

1. Sounds a little confusing but would a yellow background with red headers work? nt |

4. I would use either blues or greens. |
|
I'm guessing that the topic has something to do with economics and red/maroon might not conjure up the best images right now.
When I was doing medical marketing, we sold major medical equipment and any of the pieces I produced NEVER had red in them.... blood.
Just a thought.

6. I think blues are easier to look at for long periods. |
|
I'm not sure how long you'll have the chart up. Or what the subject is...
But I like blue so I am biased, but that red combo seems kind of "urgent!!".

5. can you do maybe a light blue (almost gray) for the background, |
|
with a stronger blue for the headers? Or some sort of light (like, "sea foam") green with dark green or blue headers?
Take a look at the DU screen and see if any of the colors appeal to you - the blues, or the mustard-y yellow/tan, the light gray background, etc., and see if any of the combinations please you.
I take it you're not being evaluated on the design of the poster, only the content? Are you going for easy-on-the-eyes so people can read it w/o too much visual contrast? Or is the poster supposed to "pop" and reach out and grab someone's attention?
Depending on what the poster is supposed to do, you'll need different color schemes. I've just always found light blue backgrounds to be soothing, allowing me to focus on the text...
