I was teasing him a few minutes ago by finding YouTube videos of other dogs whining and happy-barking; he commenced to whine right back at them, and then intently search the area BEHIND the computer to figure out where those other doggies were hiding!

10. Awwwww! HI FRED! I hope I can call you that.

Technically, Toby's name is "Darby's Golden Oktober," but we've been calling him Toby since he was 9 weeks old. We like our nicknames; even the cats suffer them. For example, our Lily is "Lilybit," Spot is "Spotling" or "Spotness." I have occasionally been known to call her "Spotternaut" too, when she decides to try and climb the high shelves like a little astronaut kitty. :)

I wish I still had my digital camera so I could take a GOOD picture of Toby. Ah well. That'll happen next year, I hope.

Frederick has a very gentle puppy-smile, and such kind eyes! I bet he's a sweetheart.

12. He's a sweetheart when he wants to be

but most of the time he wants to run around and play and be a general nuisance! The cats don't want to be bothered with him although occasionally when he is bothering them the cats will chase him downstairs. It's pretty funny to watch a 70 lb dog being chased by 2 15 lb cats.

But we love him anyway :)
