Favorite rock and roll personality?
Who is a rock and roll personality that you are thankful for?

I'll start off with the late Bo Diddley....

61. Pick up the Patton project A Perfect Place
It comes with a short movie of the same name, and Patton does the soundtrack. It's a hilarious movie, and the music is odd, as all his stuff is.

Patton is also a pretty good actor, and was cool in Firecracker.

I'm old enough to remember his music on the radio, and much of it sounds fresh today. A great human being and unfortunately one who died way too soon.

But I don't care. The guys you listen to when you are sixteen stick with you for the rest of your life.

Besides, his work on poverty, hunger, AIDS, and international debt relief show that the guy has a grasp of policy and an ability to pursue a cause that is far beyond what you see from the run of the mill show biz poseur.

32. George Thorogood. I've seen him three times and he never fails to entertain
He loves his music and loves to play. Saw him on the "50 States in 50 Dates" tour when he played in all 50 states in 50 consecutive days. When we insisted that he play one more encore at about 11:00, he said "What time is it?" Someone said "11:00". He said "Well, we don't have to get up for five more hours. Let's play!" I also loved his answer when someone asked him why he didn't write his own songs, he said "Chuck Berry already wrote them all."

37. It may be that Iggy has just been working the schtick too long...
he really does come off like an aging, shirtless, meth head who just babbles about pussy and fucking people up.
30 years ago, he was the most powerful and charismatic performer out there, but since then he has decided to just work the same old and same-getting down with the kids.
He seems for both financial and personal reasons to feel it is necessary to maintain his "wildman rock and roll cred"
If anyone does NOT need to prove their rockandroll bona fides, it is Iggy Pop.

Satch was in NY to do a photoshoot with Zakk and Les Paul.

At about 2:55 Zakk is on Joe's video camera. He's funny and prolly a lil' buzzed as he gives Joe's rhythm guitarist/tour manager hell about his hair.

I do think that is a beer in his hand.

Fine player.
