Can I replace chianti with zinfandel in a sweet potato glaze recipe?
This sweet potato recipe is the only one I've ever found that I actually like, but I bought the wine before I found the lost recipe, so now if I go out and buy a chianti too, I'll end up drinking both bottles and have one hell of a hangover.

So, can I just replace the chianti with a zinfandel.

I hardly ever cook with wine (too busy drinking it), so I'm clueless.

2. Alrighty, guess I'll be drunk while glazing then!
Thanks! Sucks to be such a cooking-wine novice!

7. I wouldn't do it
They're pretty different. Drinking both bottles sounds like a good solution to me....
