So, I get home from a hospital visit, and turn on the TV, while waiting for my dad to arrive, |
|
and CNN and Faux are in full panic mode about these attacks in India, and MSNBC is calmly discussing pre-Thanksgiving travel and transition stuff. It's like they're on two different planets. Very strange.

1. It's "Adam and Eve" not "Adam and Steve"! And God was a HEbrew, not a SHEbrew. |
|
:eyes:
Anyway, as to your actual point, I'm not surprised that the rightwing channels of fear and panic and hate and xenophobia are freaking out about attacks in India, while the coolheaded MSNBC is dealing with other stuff.

2. That's what I was thinking. Terra! Terra! Terra! vs. actual news... |
|
And my point is that God DID TOO create Adam and Steve! And Andrea and Eve.

7. You don't think this is news? |
|
I wouldn't say that around anyone from India (and I work with plenty of them)

10. I dunno. It was news on two networks, not on the other. What's with that? nt |

not buffeted.
I'm looking outside and the trees are beautiful, the clouds are lovely, the birds are chirping...all these things remain true in spite of (most) human activity.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving.

6. I know numerous people with relatives in India. |
|
Somehow, I think they would be interested in this. Think about complaining about this if it was 9/11 coverage and you were in a foreign country . You probably wouldn't appreciate hearing people complain about their networks covering it.:eyes:

8. The thing is they have these attacks all the time. |
|
Sure these were at more visible targets, and it's a slightly larger death toll... but really it's not big news.
At least not to the Indians I work with (most of the employees here are Indian). One of the White guys stopped by and was all "LOOK AT CNN!" about it though.

9. I wasn't complaining. Just noting the contrast. Really. It makes it hard for me |
|
to figure out whether there's a crisis, when two networks are breathless and the other didn't seem to know the event had happened. That was my point. Not complaining.
