In 16+ yrs of being together, this is the first time he's done the Tday shopping
it's really weird. :scared: He's doing EVERYTHING this year, since I'm otherwise preoccupied these days with school and working on my master's.

I'm aware of a part of myself that's having a hard time letting go of that control.

Isn't that freakish?

We're shifting our roles and it's a bit disturbing.

9. I still do the baking - I find it relaxing though time-consuming
But I love the fact that I don't have to do anything else, including the shopping. Of course, I never really liked doing it in the first place. :P

It takes some getting used to but how wonderful to have someone who is willing to make that switch! Lucky you.

Happy Thanksgiving. :pals:

10. Normally he does the turkey, stuffing and gravy anyway
he's MUCH better in the kitchen than I am.

I handle the mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and wine. :D

No, it's the shopping that I'm having troubles giving up. I know, I'm damn lucky. He's been wonderfully supportive as I've recently made the switch to F/T student again.

Happy Thanksgiving, darlin'. Enjoy this cozy rain and snuggling up with your new hubby. :loveya:

11. My dear Shine...
Hey, sweetie...

Change can be threatening...

Maybe you're worried that you're less of a wife now, since you're back in school...

Let it go!

Your marriage is very strong and will survive this new challenge!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

13. Thanks, Peggy.
:loveya:

you're right, the status quo of our relationship dynamic is definitely changing and it's unnerving, but we'll get thru it, I have no doubt.

for what it's worth, he's totally fine with it. I'M the one who is having trouble adjusting to my new role of receiving more household support from him.

It'll pass...I'll get used to it. :D

Many blessings to you and yours. I'm grateful for the gift of your friendship.
