Me! Would be better if I wasn't feeling like death warmed over...stoopid cold.
I have a Pecan Pie in the oven, and after that, 3 dips to make, and then an appetizer.
Sniffa's in charge of the dressing. :D
But, my little brother will be here soon! YAY!! :bounce:
Saw Momma today too. :hi:

7. i made my pecan pie today |
|
i'll do the pumpkin in the morning before the turkey goes in the oven.
i don't know about baking pecan pies at sea level, but they can be kind of tricky at sea level as far as baking times go. i usually wind up cutting at least 10 minutes off the baking time.

14. Thanksgiving is a group effort |
|
My mom handles the big stuff (turkey, potatoes, etc) with help from my aunt. My sister is a baking fiend, so when she comes up from Virginia, she usually handles the pies. My cousin brings a couple of side dishes and usually grabs some Italian cookies from a bakery in Somerville or Boston. My brothers are pretty useless in the cooking department, but they make up for it by bringing something liquid and fermented!

Two Dutch Apple, two chocolate pecan, and two pumpkin. I'm thinking of making two more pumpkin. I've got the turkey rubbed with salt and seasonings resting in the downstairs fridge.

daughter is making the filling for the coconut cream pie and it smells wonderful. I made the cornbread for the stuffing earlier today. All that's left to do tonight is bake the sweet potatoes for the casserole after the pies come out of the oven.

26. well, I am going to mix up some yeast roll dough in a few minutes, so it can rise |
|
once before I put it in the refrigerator.
I am making a broccoli salad, squash casserole and the rolls to take to my daughter's boyfriend's home for dinner. Daughter and BF flew in this afternoon *(paid for by his mom) and are staying there tonight. Daughter and I will do other fun things the rest of the weekend..just not mall shopping.
