So are the Lions even trying anymore? I mean really how much worse could they be?
I get to watch the Eagles play later. I am hoping to be thankful for an Eagles win later, but am trying to be pragmatic about that.
And last the Cowboys. Still can't stand 'em.

2. Another Cowboys hater here. |
|
I'd be ecstatic to see Romo get injured again to see the team struggle with Brad Johnson. Any playoffs without the Cowboys are good playoffs.
Besides, any team willing to sign a thug like Pacman can kiss my clean-criminal-record ass.
I know it's too much to hope for, but a 58-3 win (I have nothing against Nick Folk) by Seattle is what I'm hoping for here.

3. Like or hate a team, hoping for someone to get injured is a little over the top |

4. Yea I gotta agree with you on that part |
|
But I also disagree with zavulon on another part as well. I don't want to see the Cowboys score even 3 points.

6. Upon further reflection |
|
I think I side with you on that. I threw Folk a bone because I met him in person and he was awfully nice to my nephew, but my nephew isn't a Cowboys fan anyway.
Right, 58-0, then.

15. It will be an interesting game here..... |
|
Living in Dallas (Cowboys fan, obviously), but Mrs. av8rdave is from Seattle. In fairness to her, this is the one game per season she roots against the 'Boys.
I hate to even try to predict...even before Romo's injury, they weren't exactly playoff caliber.

If I did, I probably wouldn't think that way.
One would think you could have noodled that one out on your own.

Pretty stupid of me to read "I'd be ecstatic to see Romo get injured again..." and conclude you would be hoping for someone to get injured.
My apologies.

8. What I meant, and you missed, was |
|
that I don't think it's over the top for me to hope he gets injured, but for you I'll rephrase: if I thought it was over the top to wish for Romo to get injured, I wouldn't be wishing for him to get injured.
Is it safe to assume you understood me this time? Please advise.

I was under the assumption that it would be unlikely to find anyone here who hope for harm to someone else.
Thanks for setting me straight.
I bow to your superior intellect.

Note that I didn't wish him dead or paralyzed, just unable to play (a nicely sprained thumb would be sufficient), but I'm sure that just HORRIFIES you. I sure hope I didn't spoil your Thanksgiving dinner with my unabated savagery.
I bow to your superior condescension. You should poke around GD : P sometime - the forum in its present state is just MADE for you.

12. The Lions need to lose their Defensive coordinator. |
|
even if he is related by marriage, this is just a shame and a disservice to the team.

17. Cowboys Aren't the Last Game |
|
The most important game of the day is at 7:00 CT. My Texas Longhorns will stomp the aggies.
For those of you who don't know the history. This game was always on Thanksgiving Day until the formation of the Big 12. When I was at Texas in the 60's, my family had Thanksgiving dinner either on Wednesday or Friday because I was at the game. For television purposes (that means $), the Big 12 moved the game to Friday as a pairing with Nebraska/Colorado. Both a&m and Texas have been trying to move back to Thanksgiving and this year ESPN agreed to show it Thanksgiving night. I hope it stays on Thanksgiving.
By the way, it has been settled on the field. TEXAS 45 ou sucks 35.

19. I'm sorry a crappy football team ruins your Thanksgiving. |
|
And Mike Ditka would agree with you.
I do not. I go for tradition. The Lions suck and most likely always will, but it is tradition to see them play in their retro gear on Thanksgiving and I like that part.

That's all I want.
Ban the Lions from Thanksgiving, maybe that'll give them incentive to work at it and become a good team. :D

Banning them from Thanksgiving will not do it either.

23. "Good game" and "Lions" |
|
are mutually exclusive terms. The Lions are so pathetic that I actually feel sympathy for those long-suffering Detroit football fans,
They never should have fired Wayne Fontes,

22. I am a lifelong, bred in the bone Vikings fan |
|
and all I can do is feel sorry for Rod Marinelli and his sorry Lions. Given that I hate the Bears and Packers, I must admit to the Lions being my second-favorite team in the NFC North. No established team, as opposed to an expansion team, deserves the misery that the Lions are experiencing this year.
Every real football fan outside of Texas hates the Cowboys with a passion.
