I fought the bank and I won!

So, a few weeks back I paid my rent with a cheque and it cleared out the chequing account. The next day, because I forgot, the SPCA took out their monthly donation of $30 which, of course, bounced. So the bank then charged me $40. Then a cheque I wrote for the next day bounced cause I used the bank machine to transfer money into the account but the bounce hadn't registered yet so I didn't know I was in the red on the account... so on my second cheque I was $40 short. Basically this ended up in the bank taking $80 from my account for bounced cheques.

I told them I wanted the money returned because the initial bounce was a charity donation and an automatic withdrawal so it shouldn't cost $40. Then I explained the other fee and demanded my money back.

I got no answer...

I sent another email... no answer

I sent an email saying if they didn't at least answer me I would be treating the missing funds as a theft and filing a police report...

There was an extra $80 in my account this morning... he he he.
