OMG!! How did this happen?
I weighed 169lbs a few days ago, but as of 9:30 tonight I some how manage to weigh 180.5lbs.

I didn't even eat any pie!

1. It supposedly takes
3300 calories to add a single pound. I don't know if that's true but that kind of gain in such a short time would lead me to suspect severe water retention. Also, the time of day and weighing on a different scale can give you different results.

2. Yeah, I'm not too concerned.
I know I didn't actually gain 10 lbs or so in a few days... I'd be concerned if I'm still 180 at the end of tomorrow. :|

4. Are you planning on
having a ten pound dump in the morning?

No seriously, weight swings like that should be of concern. If it's actual, you should consult your doctor. Really.

3. Try taking your shoes off before getting on the scale.
Shoes weigh about 11 1/2 lbs. don't they? :P

5. did you weigh yourself at the same time of day with the same
amount of clothing? Did you drink a lot of water? My weight fluctuates by 5 lbs. in a day depending on:

when I weigh myself,
what I'm wearing,
if my hair is wet,
if I've eaten (or not)
If I've had lots of fluids (or not)
If I've experienced certain bodily functions (or not)
etc., etc.

Scales were created to make us crazy, I think. I've always thought avoiding them and trying to be healthy, not a certain number was the best way to go... but that's me.
