7. Good Morning

Thanksgiving was a quiet affair this year, just me and my boyfriend and a few friends, but it was still enjoyable.

Today we're going shopping. There is nothing that we really need to buy as we already have about 90% of our Christmas shopping done, but there are a few designer stores that are having 40-50% off all day today so I figured why not splurge a little on myself :)

11. Good Morning! The pic is lovely.

I'm doing a little better today. I talked to the crazy lady and she thinks I'm the one who's nuts. Well, it just so happens that I know what it's like to be a french fry short of a Happy Meal, and I can honestly say have a fully loaded Happy Meal right now. :D

Anyway, I'm more concerned about my dad right now. Last night he was admitted to the hospital with pain in his chest. It turns out that he has blood clots in his lungs and the condition is a complication from the surgery he had on his back a few weeks back. He is on the intensive care unit right now. I'll be going back to see him and to bring a few things that he needs here in a few hours. They think he's going to be okay, but it just looks kind of scary right now.

I've put on some weight as well since 1997. It's something I've always struggled with, though. And it gets tougher to keep those pounds away as we get older. I just bought a membership to a gym, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated and lot of other stuff is going on in my life right now.

I had a terrific day yesterday, although my body hurts from standing and cooking all day, and towards the end, I had to ask my friend to get the turkey out of the oven for me because my body was so tired.

BUT, we had wonderful wines and delicious food. I made a damn good feast, IMHO ;)

Today I am at work :shrug: but there are so few people here, it is a dead day to me anyway.

Malta Mom (who is also on DU, she is second wind) and Little MB are at home we will go shopping tonight when I get home from work. We are going to get Little MB some ice skates from Malta Mom.

18. Happy Thanksgiving MissHoneychurch!

Today I'm fixing Thanksgiving dinner. Yesterday we accepted an invite elsewhere. But it doesn't seem right at this time of year unless the house smells like turkey; so I'm roasting a bird today, will give some leftovers to my son and his girlfriend, and will have plenty of turkey casserole and turkey soup until Christmas. Then I'll probably get another turkey. :hi:

We will have turkey for Christmas too. Of course we will have different side dishes. We will have red cabbage and Spaetle or dumplings with it :D

The smell of turkey is part of the season as is cinnamon :9
