2. Try this site

http://www.lovinmybags.com/

on edit

that site doesn't have much for interior of purse.

How about K2r? Or upholstery cleaner, like 409 spray, and then vacuum when dry?

4. I was thinking I'd have to buy some kind of cleaner like that
I used just water because I thought soap would make it worse, but it's still sticky from the candy. Thanks for the suggestions! :hi:

3. Does the lining "pop out"?

In other words, can you make the lining come out of the bag while still attached to it? I'd let it soak in a saucer with a little dishwashing liquid, then let it dry that way.

6. Kind of
I can sort of pull the fabric inside out. I think I'll try soaking it. It's a big bag, so I guess it'll be out of commission while it drys. Ugh! :)

9. I've done the "turn it inside out and soak it" routine many times.
I always carry around hard candy. One of the wrappers will always slip off and I'll have a sticky mess at the bottom of my purse. The good thing about dishwashing detergent is it rinses out quickly. If you put your purse near a register or other warm place, it should dry overnight. Let us know how you make out.

5. Maybe put it in the freezer
and the candy will become brittle. Just a thought.

8. I should have tried that. I actually scraped the candy off
and it's just sugary residue stuck to the fabric now. It was like a gummy candy covered with sugar. The bag of candy was open inside my bag and all the sugar got all over my wallet and stuff. Serves me for being a sweet tooth. :P

10. I tried the peanut butter thing on my hands once...
I came home from collecting pine cones for a wreath and my hands were full of pine pitch. I'd heard somewhere that peanut butter was a good way to take it off. All I got were sticky hands that smelled like peanut butter. I finally soaked them in dishwater and eventually the pitch wore off.
