Am I the only one who was stupid enough to go shopping today?
Even though I made a lot of Christmas gifts this year, I still thought I'd go to the mall to "get just one thing." Seven hours later I make it home. Ugh. My feet hurt.

1. I did two things I never do...Shop on this day, and at WalMart!
But it was a special circumstance, to buy an inflatable mattress for my g/f who just got the keys to a new house and has no furniture

It went fast, I found it, checked out in sporting goods, and was out of there in five minutes.

It was afternoon, so not too crazy...

9. Where I live, the traffic alone near the malls is reason enough to stay in.
but I happened to be in a different and smaller town.

I don't know how people do it, put up with crowds and messy piles of goods, etc.

I'm soooo not shopping much this year. Just a couple things for my girl, and for the others I'm strongly considering a combination of donations in their names to animal shelters or other charities I think they'll support, or something I make.

Cheers!

3. I have in the past.
I almost went this early morning but I went to bed instead.

I have worked retail on this day in the past.

5. I have too
I'll never forget working in the lingerie department, by myself, when a line started to form and people became impatient. It's amazing how people will stand around and look at things in a store for hours but can't handle waiting at a cash register 3 minutes!

7. I know.
I just worked at my own speed.

It just like working early voting, people just have to stand in line and wait.

4. I actually went out
to get a coffee table I've been meaning to get for a long time. I was in and out of Ikea in about 20 minutes, though it's not in a mall.

12. What I like
is being able to get things like a coffee table that fit in my car and are also easy to put together. No buying people lunch to borrow a truck.

17. I got lost in one for an hour, once. Couldn't find my spouse or my kids.
Unbelievably frustrating. The damn place winds like a maze, and I think I searched every aisle, every section, every floor, before finally meeting up again.

Freaking Awesome!! I love that place!

19. I went to Fred Meyer and Walgreens.
I bought some lentils and a Hot Wheels car.

I have personally propped up the economy for another day. I hope you all appreciate.
