...and I need some advice.
I got a phone call while I was at work this evening. It was my (or so I thought) ex-husband; he wants to talk to me because he's looking at filing bankruptcy. Why does he need to speak to me about that? We're divorced right?
WRONG!!
He hasn't filed it, the slimy bastard.
He's going to love talking to me tomorrow. I'll start at lying bastard and go from there.
Now the advice: If I've been living in Texas for the past year, how much am I going to be on the hook for this?

1. Make sure you find a way to sign the divorce papers! |

EDIT: You can get a default divorce if he refuses to sign the papers. My x did that behind my back.

they cannot do wage garnishments or take your homestead.
in fact, nailing a paper to your door with "GTT" (gone to texas) was a form of de facto bankruptcy.

Search in google for free legal services, or pro bono. Don't wait.

5. You need legal help and fast. |
|
If you aren't divorced then only a lawyer has a chance of untangling this for you.
