Need some help: Digital camera recomendations...if you please?
I currently have a 3.1 mega pixel Fuji which is many years old, and I am in the market for a new camera.

1) I am looking for something that is very simple to use, since photography is one of my "stupid areas".

2) Perhaps around 10 mega pixels?

3) A fast refresh rate in between pictures is important to me. With my current camera, you can take a picture, go and have a smoke and a coffee, come back, and the camera MIGHT be ready for the next picture.

4) I would like a feature that enables you to take sharp pictures of small items (I think it is called a macro?). For example, if I wanted to take a good picture of a coin or a stamp to sell on ebay...

5) A nice large screen is preferred, since it seems that I am half fucking blind these days...

6) I want something that you can just hook up to your computer with a USB cable and transfer the pictures to your computer via clicking on the icon in "my computer".

7) Again, I need something good and SIMPLE, since I am both stupid and usually drunk when taking photos.

If you respond, you can just post the make and model number if you want. Then I will do the research on Google.

Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to respond.

3. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T9 (6 megapixel)
You don't need 10 megapixels. 5 is good even for 8x10 prints. The extra megapixels just eat up memory. My DSC-T9 is very compact & easy to use. You may need to check eBay or a reseller since it's an older model.

4. We just got a Nikkon Coolpix
we got it from Amazon for $150 something...maybe $170. They have the same thing at Costco for $199.

Nice camera--small, internal zoom so you really can fit it in your pocket. It's about the size of a deck of cards, or smaller, which is what I like.

8 or 10mp

super fast and super good pictures. It can take macro shots but I haven't fiddled with this to its full capacity.

The entire back is a screen. There is no "viewfinder".

Easy hookup. No software. Just Camera - USB - Computer and your'e ready to go.

The one at Costco has this stupid 'wireless' photo transfer thing. Sounded good until I looked in to it--basically you can "wirelessly" transmit your photos not to your computer, but to a Nikkon website, it takes forever, and adds $20 unnecessary dollars to your bill.

We upgraded from a Sony Cybershot from 2003, which was a great camera, but I didn't replace with another Sony because of the proprietary MemoryStick needed for memory. The Nikkon (and I think every other camera on the face of the earth) takes SD cards which are very very cheap. We have a 2GB SD card in our camera and we can hold a couple of thousand pictures. The SD cards (2GB) can be purchased for $10-$20, depending on where you go. Memory Sticks are way more expensive and can only be used in Sony Cameras.

(this is the one with the "wireless" feature. Worthless wireless feature, mind you

This is it at Amazon.
