1. It's always the last one he did.
I really enjoy his talent.

I especially enjoyed 1408 and War, Inc.

10. I grew up in Grosse Pointe (not the part in the film).
No radio stations, NO good 80s music (except for a few killer record stores/clubs), no fast food/foodie marts...aside from that, great film!

Better Off Dead was so horrible that it made me hate him for close to twenty years.

20. Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity...
I looooved GPB, just something about it struck a chord with me.

"Must Love Dogs" was on last night, John Cusack and Diane Lane. Good premise, but kinda sucky movie. I watched it anyway :D

27. The exact same two I was going to say.
An interesting ( well sort of) story about seeing High Fidelity for the first time. It had been recommended to me by a musician/rabbi friend whom I play with on occasion. Told me he'd seen this movie that reminded him of me ( great-- a neurotic, rock and roll obsessed, going-nowhere shlub with a string of failed romances reminds you of me ; thanks Joe----just kidding ,Rabbi Joe is a great guy, and I hate to say it, but it DID remind me of myself a little)... Anyway,we both live in Albuquerque but had recently discovered that we'd each attended Evanston High School, just outside Chicago. In the couple of weeks in between Joe recommending that I see it, and getting around to renting it, I found out by sheer coincidence, that Cusack also attended our high school, and was a freshman when Joe was a senior.( I'm a few years older). Can't explain it , but knowing that it was a movie by an Evanston kid; it just somehow made more sense...and not to mention GPB , where he's going to his high school reunion. ( another pointless bit of unrelated trivia : Mean Girls was filmed at Evanston High.) I think I was going somewhere with all this, but apparently not. Time to go to sleep; good night to all you night-owl DUers...

33. John Cusack = Hipster gold.
Just imagine John Cusack in a Kevin Smith movie, and the hipsters will be in pure hipster heaven.

That being said, Being John Malkovich is the best John Cusack movie.

34. "True Colors" with him and James Spader
cool thing about that movie is that Cusack was the bad guy and Spader was the good guy, which is kind of a switch.
