I got a really strange e-mail today
The guy found my station's website and sent this. He sounds like a first-class stalker and wants the station to help him? I have no intention of replying but I'm wondering if I should forward it to the campus police?

I've edited out the name of the girl and the station.

Hello (name deleted) radio

I wander if you are able to help me, My name is Joe Baker, I am from England. I am trying to locate one of the students within the university. I am not sure on her second name but her first name is (deleted). I think she is 19 or 20, I beleieve that she is studying to become a nurse, although I am not sure about this. The thing is we came across each other a while back, we have common/similar interests and I am really intrigued by her and want to make contact with her again. We have lost contact though - probably due to the distance between us both, where she is over there in US and I am back here in England. I really want to contact her again and i dont know what to do. I really like her and think she is my type of girl, I would do anything I could to find her again. I have even came over for a week to Detroit and tryed to find her but had no success.

In my confusion and inability to stop thinking about ways of finding (deleted) has made me unsure of what i am asking here, but i would like to try and find her or if i cant do that just give her a message that i am trying to find her and that i find her enchanting and really interesting and i would like to get to know her again. I am the type of person she says she is after and although i understand that she may not be interested but i dont know this and am really confused and stressed about it.

Name deleted: (photos attached)
Eye Colour: Brown
Hair Colour: Brown
Height: 5ft 1ins
Date of birth: 21 February 1988/1989(cant remember how old she said she was but i believe that she is 19.
Training to become a nurse, She is sports mad, especially ice hockey(she been playing since she was 4 I believe) she is a redwings fan.

I think (name deleted) is amazing and she really intrigues me more than i could describe and she is like the girl i have always imagined being with, i just need help finding her please, i want this more than anything. I just hope and pray that i will find her again, where i believe that i wont lose touch with her again. I am just a kind, genuine loving English man, looking for my american dream(name deleted) I believe se may be my dream and the girl i have been searching for ages.

I appreciate any help with this and maintain hope no matter how small that is that i will find her but need help with this. I understand that this may not be possible, but i dont want to give up the search for her becuase she is my dream. Could put a notice or something within the radio studio or make announcements or something i want to find her please.
Sorry if this is an unusual request
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you soon
Joe Baker 21, London, England

1. Gawd that's creepy
I'd send it to campus police. She needs to know (if she's indeed a student there)

It's a good thing he's an ocean away.

2. Tell him she died
Send him a lock of hair and say that is all you were able to retrieve for him before they cremated her. That should get her off the hook.

7. I think you should notify her as well. If indeed you know who she is.
If I had someone stalking me like that, I'd want to know.

9. I have no idea who she is
I did forward to the campus police chief who referred it to his detective and told me I did the right thing.

10. And THAT'S why you shouldn't share too much about yourself on the Internet
Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 04:26 PM by dawgmom
My guess is that they "came across each other" in a chatroom or on a discussion board like this. Everytime I see somebody here post a picture or their real name, name of the small town they live in, etc., I think "Oh, dear." For every friendly person you talk to, there are ten people just lurking and soaking up bits and pieces of information. I know this from personal experience. I had a cyber-stalker many years ago who actually pieced together enough information to figure out where I worked, and called me out of the blue. Yeesh.

13. Well, he sent it to us just using a generic address our website
But I probably should've deleted it. I didn't proof very well.

Update: campus police said there is no student with that name and birthdate enrolled at our university.
