Any scary movie recommendations?
I have watched plenty, but none are scary...so anyone know of some good ones?

1. Anything with Will Ferrell in it.
Shifty, beady eyes. I don't trust him. One of these days he's going to get caught shanking small children and I'm going to say: "I told you so."

But nobody listens to me...nobody ever listens. Just because a guy wears a eggplant submarine sandwich for a hat...people think he's crazy. Get caught storing produce in your underwear one time...and people think you're nutso. I'm not the only person to do their laundry with rice-milk, nor the first person to brush his teeth with a hacksaw. But does anybody listen to me about Anti-Christ Will Ferrell?

No. :evilfrown:

7. I have to agree
while the plot was weak, it made up for it with several parts that were really fucking intense.

10. Pan's Labyrinth. There is a scene with a ghoul that is especially intense.
It got to me. There's not many horror movies that can do that anymore.

And there is also a "human" monster or two that are particularly loathsome as well.

17. I was surprised how violent that one was. Like the guy getting his nose smashed in, then being shot.
I mean, it was no "Ichi the Killer," but...

12. The Audition. It has a slow build...but it has scenes you may never erase from your memory.
It's not so much "Horror" as just really, really disturbing though.

15. "Let The Right One In" Is Supposed to Be Pretty Creepy
If you have any indie theatres near you, that's your best bet. I'm checking it out later this week.

18. As I've said before, it depends what you mean by "scary."
There's always a classic like "Last House on the Left" or "Cannibal Holocaust," but those movies are more psychologically scarring than make-you-jump frightening. Some of my top "scary" picks would be "Audition," "Jacob's Ladder," "The Thing" (Carpenter version), "The Hills Have Eyes" (original), "Suspiria," "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (original), and of course, "The Exorcist."

And if you just want a good cheap gore-fest, you can't go wrong with Lucio Fulci. "Zombie" AKA "Zombi 2," "City of the Living Dead," "The Beyond," "The New York Ripper," etc.

23. How could I forget "The Shining"? That's an example of horror film as truly great cinema.
Honestly, I've always found the "Heeee'res Johnny!" bit more amusing than scary, but the overall atmosphere and the garden-maze ending are pretty freaky.
