"Floating"

On an alloy bird I glance at the clouds below
As the light fades, so does the horizon
Only by lamp light the ways of men

Lights, many lights
Ships on concourse
Points of light in the blackness of night

Turbulance, a must
Withstand it, we do
Distant in an astral plane

So we decend.

I wrote this one on the plane to Lima, Peru - where I am now. The sensation of travel can be overwhelmiing and the pure distance makes for such dramatic effect in flight. I have pictures of leaving Florida, interesting cloud formtions, and the sunset.

Well, it's not much but I had a few drinks before boarding the plane so my verse is a bit terse. Anybody else wanna give it try? Just write a few lines to describe your sentiments.

2. I meant your own sentiments.

I try to create a thread every once in a while to entice others to post their own. I kind of get my jollies off that. It's just an exercise in writing, I don't mean to be fishing for complments here, I just like seeing what others write about because I love the ambiguity of meaning that you find sometimes.

And, yes. As soon as I get back to the states I plan on renting server space for designing a personal website to post and reference pics from. There some marvelous flowers nd plants here that I've never seen before. There's even a park with just olive trees. Even the hills are majestic as any I've I've ever seen in the U.S. It's fascinating.

Maybe you feel that you haven't finiished it yet but it's a great, detailled, personal piece. I really like the lines:

The imagery is deep, very introspective. You encourage emtion without making yourself vulnerable, very hard to do. I applaud your piece and wish you luck in completing it to your satisfaction, though, I recall a poet once said "no poem is ever finished, merely abandoned", or something like that.

The last stanza hits me pretty deeply. Thank you for sharing this.
