I'm going up to my sanctuary, my bed that has my warm wife in it; the wife |
|
who I know will wrap herself around me as I sleep, except for the hours when we change positions as one, and I get to wrap my arms around her.
You've all heard the phrase "sweet relief?" I thank whatever God is out there (if there is indeed one) that I get to understand what that phrase means, for at least a few hours every night, no matter how bad the Pain Day preceding that night has been.
The pain pursues me into my dreams frequently, but I consider myself a fortunate son of a bitch that I have someone who helps me minimalize the suffering. My heart goes out to those who do not have this kind of relief. It genuinely does.

7. Thank you, m'dear; I do have to charge out of the rack tomorrow at about 7 AM and |
|
finish up a rough draft for a customer to present at a meeting at 10 AM.
I told him this afternoon that I wouldn't let him down.
No matter that the pain has reached a new height today.
I won't let him down. It's a matter of honor now, and honor recognizes no boundaries, nor any limits, and failing all else, recognizes no excuses.
I've got it within me at least for one more time. I may be sick, but I ain't dead yet.

5. As one New Englander to another, you gotta know I understand that. |
|
Especially at 16 degrees here tonight; not much of a low for Maine, but kind of shocking for the Shoreline.

8. My dog is a great comfort |
|
I would be wretchedly lonely if it weren't for the warm beast who burrows under the covers each night.
I could live without the toxic farts, though.

9. We have a Beagle who is a perfect Family Dog. Not only does she make sure to spend some time |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 11:55 PM by Redstone
with each family member each day, she pays particular attention to anyone who's not feeling good.
And amazingly enough, since I've developed the blood clots in my right leg, she's started the habit of sleeping on my leg in t evening when I'm on the couch, and keeping that leg warm. Even though she's never been a lap dog before, in three years.
Dogs are wondrous animlals, yes?

13. Fortunate is the man ... |
|
... who knows the warmth of his woman, and appreciates the depth of its meaning and the breadth of its embrace.
Fortunate is the woman whose man speaks of her closeness in terms of endearing intimacy, and in gratitude for that warmth she so readily surrenders without hesitation.
You have the soul of a poet, and the words to woo that special woman who not only recognizes a poet, but knows the value of his love.
