Dunno which.

if not for Facebook, I wouldn't have reconnected with several people from my past whom I missed very much.

I don't have much patience for MySpace, though. Too much spam, too graphics-heavy, takes forever to load even on a fast connection.

42. You don't have to be in a band to be on Face Book. It is a great
way to find and keep in touch with old friends.

I opened my account about two months ago and recently got in touch with a friend from 6th grade who I went to school with on Adak, Alaska. We have been having a blast catching up.

Last night, I had dinner with a good friend of mine from high school as he was in town on business -- we re-connected through Facebook.

I've found it to be a great way to get back in touch with people I knew in high school, mostly old friends I had just lost touch with. I recently met with some people I hadn't seen for ten years or so. Overall I like some aspects but hate a lot of the stupid applications. I use it as another communication tool.

I only use it for discovering artists - I never send requests to other people unless I know them. In fact, I only have a few non music-artist friends.

I got a request from Oh, Alexis! tonight, and I accepted of course - VERY talented and pretty:

59. No. I've suffered through the horrors of MySpace and don't want to step on the rake twice.
My girlfriend has a Facebook account and is being driven nuts by all of the stupid virtual gifts / drinks she receives (when sie ignores them, the sender sends another one and keeps it up until a gift / drink gets sent back), and lately there are a ton of stupid surveys she is being "tagged" (I believe that's the proper word) for - "25 random things about me," "48 one-word answers," and so on.

I'd sooner vote for John McCain than sign up with Facebook.

If they get annoying. I doubt anyone will get super resentful if you don't send something back, and some of them are a hoot. I'm addicted to the "Magical Trunk" and "Douchebag" gifts myself.

eta: I don't drink and I don't gamble, so I ignore those requests. Nobody's cursed me out yet.

65. No. I value my privacy.
I don't want prospective employers looking at a Myspace or Facebook page and deciding not to hire me based on something I do in my personal life. There are also people in my past I do not wish to reconnect with, especially former boyfriends. I also think social network sites take up way too much time.

It was a giant time suck in addition to my feeling too publicly exposed online. Of course I had my profile set to private but prospective employers and others can still see that I have a profile and glean certain information from that.
