Because yukking it up with O'Reilly over torture means you haven't any soul left, you're just Renfield salivating over fat juicy spiders, and you'll dance to anything. Like Depeche Commode. Exactly. And all that referential humor--not about smart. Deliberately smugly obscurantist--many people merely laughed to pretend that they "got it". Those who really "got it" got tired eventually of such weirdo bon mots as "like Immanuel Kant at 8 yrs old, 'but Mutter, everyone's doing it!'", or whatever pop intellectuallism he wants to pull out of his hackneyed baggy pants. He's been parodying himself and out-smugging himself, and even giving Larry Miller, who he's been mistaken for in snopes-ready forwarded e-mails, a run for his money in providing the kind of ditto-headed nonsense people *do* forward in e-mails. Except, conservatism aside, Larry Miller is a good actor and fucking still knows how to do the funny!

Dennis Miller, bearded hipster doofus, can laugh at himself. Ridi, Pagliacci, Ridi! Because even if I forgive Carlos Mencia and Dennis Leary for possibly picking at the bones of comedians who've gone before, I don't forgive him for picking at the corpse of the talent he could have been. That's right. He could've been good as Maher. Better--he is well read and knows better than his politics.

But he's Fredo. He broke my heart. Dead to me!

16. I woke up with a horrible stomach ache.

I made a bunch of food for the Super Bowl...chili, onion dip, frozen appetizer thingies...and could only manage to eat one lousy spring roll and a glass of Pepsi, and that didn't even settle right, except that the Pepsi helped me burp some rancid-tasting gas out of my system. I bought some nice fresh ale from our local brewpub yesterday, and couldn't drink any of it. :(

But my kid said my chili was a 99 on a scale from 1-99.

17. I accomplished everything that I was too hungover to tend to

yesterday and everything I planned on doing today. Currently I have a charlie horse in my right thigh and aside from wishing it would go the fuck away, i am left wondering why the hell we call it a charlie horse!

It made me and Ben both cry,
then we got Chinese take-out,
then I watched Puppy Bowl three times :D

This week I have to finish the art I've been making since Christmas.

21. My eyeballs are dry. I had Special K Red Berries for breakfast,

which is my favorite cereal, but the experience was tainted by the fact that someone ate a bunch of the berries out of the box.
I'm cold. My stomach hurts, but it does that every morning. My den smells like stamp glue.
