I just saw the most adorable movie this weekend: "Waitress"
Keri Russell (Of Felecity fame) plays a waitress who is married to an abusive, controlling husband and finds herself pregnant. The pregnancy was unplanned and bad timing since she was attempting to save money so she could leave her husband. (Played brilliantly by Jeremy Sisto). Keri's speciality are Pies. She works as a waitress in a small diner that features her inventive pies. She seems to create new pies based on her mood at the time.

Anyhow, it was on HBO and I must have seen it 4 times this past weekend (I was a bit under the weather so it's not like I planned to watch it that many times).

The movie received positive reviews and was played at Sundance. The saddest thing about this movie is that Adrianne Shelley, the woman who wrote and directed the movie, was murdered soon after this project was finished. (Shelley also has a supporting role as one of Keri's friends in the movie and her young daugher also has a small role).

It's a well done movie that most of you men will hate but women will love!

1. I keep hearing good things about that movie.

But I watched one part of one scene during that free weekend they had recently, and it seemed awfully depressing, so I bailed. (It was she and the boyfriend discussing the baby...)

4. It had some sad parts but the movie as a whole was very good
It's classified as a 'dramedy' since there was a bit of drama and comedy in the movie

6. I thought the previews were better than the movie as a whole
I was all set to like the movie, but it just wasn't that well done, imo.

My ex's daughter is the very image of an 8 yo version of Keri Russell. I'll have to find a pic and post to see if other people see it.

7. It's a sweet little movie.
I always cry at the end because that is really Adrianne Shelley's tiny daughter walking into the sunset with Kerri Russell.
It also has Matthew Fillion (Capt. Tight Pants of Firefly) as the OB-GYN.:loveya:

8. Oh I bawled like a baby the 2nd time I watched it
I had read about Shelley 'committing suicide' but after seeing the movie I read up about the movie and Shelley. I didn't realize she was murdered NOT suicide.

That made the ending even more bittersweet. I wonder what kind of pie Jenna would bake?

13. Not this man! I absolutely loved it and have recommended it to everyone I know.
And it is such a tragedy about Adrienne. They actually did a L&O show that mimicked the crime in which she was killed. She was such a great talent.
