If you live on campus in university, do you sleep? |
|
Next year, I'll be starting university. Living on campus, of course.
But, the thing is, I need lots of sleep and am so not a party person.
Will I die of crankiness and sleep deprivation?

1. My alma mater now has study floors, where there are quiet hours |
|
and no partying. I think a lot of universities do this now.
But, I slept fine in the dorms, myself.

6. you will be ok, esp if you get a room mate with similar habits...my roommate |
|
and I used to stuff towels under the door so we could study or sleep ..because there were several of our good friends who would come in and talk if they thought we were up. so we tricked them into thinking otherwise.

and if I can avoid parties here, I'm sure you can wherever you go.
I sleep fine. Sometimes my neighbor plays loud shitty music, but that's as bad as it gets. The library is a great friend.

Noise Cancellation HeadphonesAnti Noise Headphones: Active Versus Passive Noise-CancellationThere may be speakers that do this as well. That would be a boon versus having to sleep with headphones on.

4. I never had any problems |
|
At least not with disturbance from other residents.
I spent two of my four years living in halls - the second time I got to choose who was living in the rooms near-by, but the first time it was pure chance.

7. At the college my children attend |
|
there is a questionnaire sent out about your study/sleep/social habits and the school tries to pair you with room/suitemates that are compatible. The RA's also do a good job of keeping the noise down after midnight on any given night.
My daughter tries for classes in the morning, while everyone else is sleeping. Then in the afternoons she has the dorm to herself for a nice, long nap. She says it works wonders.
