Someone commissioned a piece of knitting from me today!
:bounce:

A dear friend from HS that I haven't seen in 17 years, who is my Facebook friend, asked me if I would knit a certain pattern for her. I'm not charging her much, and she's also paying for 1/2 the cost of the needles, since I need to buy some to do this project.

It's a quick, 1-2 day project at most. And it's fun to knit for people that appreciate and desire handknit items. Yay. :)

10. Oh...just hangin' around.
How are you?! I was thinking of stopping by your office when I was in the building the other day, but I felt crappy and just wanted to go home.

Staying busy with all that biological hoo-ha? :P

11. Hahaha... busy, yup!

You probably wouldn't have found me in my office anyway -- I'm not teaching this quarter, and I'm trying to get a complete draft of my dissertation done by spring break! So I've been joking that it's like finals week when you were an undergrad, when you'd be like "how many days in a row have I been wearing these sweatpants????" Only for me it's 3 months, rather than a week.

But things are good! I have a draft almost done (!!!) and I had a phone interview this morning... hopefully a job will come along!

13. Oh my, what have you gotten yourself into?
And there's nothing wrong with sweatpants. I've been wearing them religiously in this frigid freaking weather.

Good luck with the job hunt. The job pool isn't too big for Zodiak right now. We're just keeping our fingers crossed.

15. Oh, just gettin a PhD ya know!

It's a breeze!

I should've changed my name to Dr. Mander during the amnesty. :D

Are you guys probably heading out of Cbus soon?? Isn't his position sort of indefinite if he wants it?

16. His lab was just awarded a 3 year grant.
So he has at least that long to find a tenure track position. So, no plans to leave right away.

Zodiak still thinks it's weird that he's a doctor. I just think he's weird.

knitted snow board hats. I told her a few
years ago about a guy who had a custom made
snow board hat knitted with a pattern of two
caribou mating.

She went nuts and wanted me to track down the
knitter. Alas I didn't know the knitter's name.

If you're interested in doing some custom jobs let
me know. She and her friends work in oil engineering
so they aren't hurting for cash and they're fashion
pigs.
