All I ask of God (Tonight's lullaby)
I have to leave now; I have a Skype meeting with a software team in Beijing.

So I leave this lovely song for you tonight:

All I Ask of God - Leon Geico:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zncwEGxjhEE

All I ask of God,
Is that pain not make me indifferent
That death not find me an empty husk;
not having done enough.

All I ask of God,
is that I not become indifferent to unfairness,
to not let my other cheek to be slapped,
After a claw has scored my forehead.

Chorus:

All I ask of God,
is that war not make me indifferent
War is a great monster that steps hard
over all the innocent poor.

All I ask of God,
is that lies not make me indifferent
that if a traitor overcomes the few,
that the few not easily forget.

All I ask of God,
is that the future not make me indifferent
doomed is the one who has to march on,
to live among a different culture.

1. My dear Xipe Totec!
What a beautiful song, and those lyrics!

They really hit home for me...

These are words to live by, indeed...

Thank you, sweetie...

3. Thank you!
I posted it on the Latin American Forum, and Judy Lynn did some awesome research on it:

Most of this I knew, but I often forget that Hispanic culture is not mainstream culture in the US; I stupidly forget to explain the significance of the songs.
