14. Michigan is a very beautiful state.
I visited a friend in Grand Rapids a couple of years ago and was amazed by the lush, soft, fire-ant-free grass (you can sit on it and not be stung within an inch of your life!), clean, crisp, fragrant air (noticeably free of pollution), and the beauty of the surrounding area.

It has borders on five of them: Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and St. Clair, which is technically considered one of the lakes because it connects Huron and Erie.

We spent very nice week in the UP one summer and ran across a town with a prison - across the road was the Prison View Party Store.
