Lots of lakes, lots of loons, forests, prairies, good schools, state parks, miserable winters but the other three seasons rock... I love Minnesota. :-)

Still pretty strange to have the Governator after Bush/Enron put him in office in 2003 by trashing the state's energy supply and then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_electricity_crisis">letting FERC deny our rate cap petition in late 2000.

I love it because it's got so much history, a good deal of diversity, as well as a diverse climate and landscape. Ya gotcher desert, ya gotcher dry mountainous areas, ya gotcher badlands, ya gotcher dense high-altitude forests, ya gotcher high plains... Really, almost everything except water, New Mexico has it. :)
Oh, and I don't think I'll ever see a more beautiful sunrise or sunset than what I consistently get here. Same goes for the dark, dark starry nights out in the middle of nowhere.
I have lots of complaints about my home state, but I won't voice them very often because its pluses and beauty outweigh them so much.
