When you get your hair cut, are you a chatter, or do you just sit there? |
|
I always feel like I should be making conversation, but can't think of anything to say. And besides, she's working. She doesn't come to my workplace and yak on about the weather and whatnot when I'm preaching or visiting or whatever.
So, how about you? Chatty or quiet?

2. Re:Chat at the hair salon |
|
If it's just a haircut,I usually don't say too much.
But if I am getting highlites done, which requires me to be sitting in the chair for a few hrs, then I do talk to the hairdresser.
I don't consider myself a highly socialble person, yet I still find something to talk about.lol

I used to be a chatter, but that was back in MN when the person who cut my hair was a good friend of mine.
I have not found a stylist that I have gone back to twice since I have been here.

9. My hairdresser is also a personal friend with whom Mr. LIW and I socialize outside the salon. |
|
So, yes, we gab away, getting all caught up on what the other has been doing.

But I cut my own hair most of the time, so it'd look kinda odd if I was a chatter.

My haircutter has a sister who's bipolar (like myself), and he's her legal guardian. So we trade horror/war stories about working the system, dealing with the odd episode, and just stuff in general. It's quite relaxing.

17. depends on if she is chatty |
|
if she's not, I'm not.
But I haven't gotten a haircut in about a year since I bought some clippers. Now I trim my own hair. Saves TONS of money. I used to spend about $20 every two months, now I spend nothing a year, and the clippers were $35.

18. I've had the same hairdresser for over 20 years. She watched my son grow up. |
|
She knows my entire family. She is probably the one person that knows the most about me. And I about her. We discussed being room mates at one time. Life took over.
She sent a very nice arrangement to the funeral home when my son died, and shut down the shop so they could all attend his funeral.
Yes, we do chat. I look forward to haircuts. When I am just too sick or depressed to talk, she gives me space. When I am up, she talks about things on her mind, and when she is unhappy with her life.
If it were just a stranger each time, then I'd say just go quiet. Cut my hair, it's a job. I'll pay, tip, and leave.

I'm usually quiet. But if my haircutter wants to chat, I'll join in. Though at times we run out of chat subjects. Luckily, I visit the shearing shed twice a year, giving time for something to happen to chat about.
