We here in California do not care what you like about our state
We don't even care what you don't like about our state. Love it or hate it, post about it or don't, it makes absolutely no difference to us. Other states may need the ego-massage of being told what's good about them (and other states have much to offer), but not California. California will never be seen on the couch with Stuart Smalley.

That is all. Carry on...

:hi:

unvisited. Come back anytime! :hi:

6. "hot mess" - that is such an evocative phrase
It could be good, it could be bad, but it's definitely different. I like it! :)

California feels more like a country than a state.

It is so damned big and varied, it's just hard to characterize.

But think about this: about 1 in every 12 Americans live in Southern California. :wtf:

yup.

12. It's complicated. Like imaginary numbers in mathematics - they don't
really exist on the number line, but you have to pretend they exist or else some things don't make sense. 'Other states' are like that - for example, when the Lounge argues abut whether Maryland is better/worse than Delaware, we have to imagine that those are real places or else it all falls apart...

;)

21. Well, of course Maryland is better than Delaware. Duh.
But then again, Maryland is better than California, too. And just about every other state except Florida and Hawaii. Cause it's Maryland.

23. Excessive use of imaginary numbers in the CA state budget
doesn't seen to have worked out that well for you.

I heard Arnold may start paying state employees with Monopoly money to balance the budget.

Actually, I would like to visit Cali one day. But couldn't ever see myself living there. Living on a fault line and in arid dry conditions prone to forest fires every six months? No thanks.

The rest are staying because
it is not like the rest of the country."
