7. oh, yeah, something like that makes sense
That must be what they put on Daddy's foot when he sliced it open during a cat bomb episode, because there were no stitches.

well, i thought i had a picture in my photobucket of him with his foot all wrapped up, but i can't find it. :(

9. Poor Moggy!
The vet's going to have to do something to sedate that cat before putting in the stitches, I think.

Reminds me of a little button quail I had in my aviary for a while. Guy who owned a pet store called and ask if I'd take it. It had jumped up in a too-small cage and laid its head open. The cut was long enough that the skin slid back, exposing about half its skull.

Now, I don't take quail to the vet, so I decided to see what I could do. A little 2 lb. test nylon monofilament, a very thin needle, and some hydrogen peroxide solution in hand, I disinfected the wound. Once the bubbling and foaming died down, I threaded the needle with the monofilament and set about stitching up the skin. The birdy passed out cold in my wife's hand, making the job a little easier.

I made a right mess of joining the split skin together, but needs must, as they say in England. Little fellow healed up in a week and I removed the stitches. He spent a year or so gleaning seeds from the floor of the aviary.

He had the oddest topknot, though, with feathers going in all directions. I wish I had a photo, but it got lost somewhere.

10. UPDATE
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 01:15 PM by graywarrior
No stitches. Apply bacitracin, keep it covered, keep him in doors. Appears to be caused by getting caught on a fence or something. Vet is familiar with Socks...says he's scrappy and tough. NH vets do not coddle. Let it heal on its own...why spend money...hahahaha....I'm all for that.

Phew....no chance of his brains leaking out. Now I have to check on my brain.

11. I almost did that to my cat last night.
I like my toilet paper ON the roll. Is that so hard to understand?

Glad kitty is okay. I saw your thread last night. Looked nasty, but cats are tough.

12. I like the tp roll on the floor.
It cuts down on the arguments about installing it over or under.
