5. He's such A-Weasel.
Has his Jimmy Swaggart moment now that he's been exposed, so he's hoping to get the same sympathy pass that Pettite got. Meanwhile others who used steroids like him and lied like him will take the fall he won't, and even more who never used them are watching from the sidelines because their slot was taken by someone on juice.

What's worse is his whole arrogant "I never really had to" attitude while others were taking the fall. He used their troubles to look good, and now he's trying to turn this to make himself look contrite, when we can all see that he'd have never admitted it if he hadn't been exposed. I mean, he kept lying even after failing a test, putting others who knew he failed into the position of watching him lie and being able to do nothing about it.

I never liked him, even when he was with the Rangers. He has a way of splitting a team without looking like he's doing it. He's probably got a lot of good features, but his weaknesses are predatory. Give me a TO or a Rickey Henderson any day. They may be abrasive, but they don't hide behind lies.

Just my thoughts. Sad to see this. I've never liked Bud Selig, but even I am stunned by how destructive he has been to the sport. I used to love baseball, but it's become so gimmicky now it's hard to watch. They need to fire Selig and hire another independent Landis type, or it will soon become American's Past Tense.

I think you've hit it on the head. I find it interesting that none of the teams he is on seem to function as a team very well...

19. Every team he's been on has bankrupted themselves to get him
therefore, they suffer at other positions and can't win.

The Yankees? I realize there are lots of Yankee fans here, so I'll try to be civil. ;-) With the number of egos in that locker room, it's amazing they all fit. I can't even imagine what it would be like to deal with some of those guys day in and day out.

BTW, Derek Jeter is much better looking.

Mariners fans are enjoying the sweet schadenfreude right now.

It's been years, and I still hate him with the heat of a thousand suns!

12. Oh, yeah! Sweet!
I remember when he first returned to Seattle after selling himself to the Rangers. There were signs hanging from the balconies all over the stadium. My two favorites:

1. Who let the dog IN?
2. A-Hole.

He is a greedy, unlikeable little prick. (And he's not alone, unfortunately.)
:nopity:

20. We still throw Monopoly money out of the stands when he dares to play here
The whiny little bitch sat out the last trip, if I remember correctly.

He probably hurt his widdle fingey. After all, after the steroids, he sure isn't able to step on his, well, manhood like he used to, huh?

10. I have much more respect for that then someone like Barry Bonds
At least A-Rod admitted it whereas Bonds keeps denying denying denying even when the evidence is overwhelmingly against him.

11. He kept denying it after he knew he had failed a test. IIRC, Bonds still
has not failed a test, although I'm no longer sure of who has done what. The damn scorecard on steroids is more confusing than a National League pitching box score in a 15 inning game.

24. After he had denied it 15 months earlier
There's nothing courageous about what he did. Coming clean when you are cold hard busted does not take "balls", it's simply damage control and self-preservation. It's no different than when he lied about his affair with Madonna. He lies when he thinks he can get away with it.

The "admission" was pathetic to begin with. He blamed it on being "young" when he was almost 30. He blamed it on the "culture" when only about 10% of the players tested positive. He blamed it on the pressures of his "contract", then he went on to eventually sign a bigger contract with the Yankees and changed positions to boot.

It's kind of like when his contract talks with the Yankees went to shit and nobody else wanted him that he blamed it on his "agent" (he still has the same agent to this day).
