Instead of your desktop, post a screenshot of your browser configuration
We haven't done this in a while and I'm always on the lookout for new ideas.

First off, I am running XP, I just prefer the classic look. My Firefox theme is "Daum Blue" - a simple, clean look that really highlights the current tab. As you can see, I like my add-ons and extensions but I think I have arranged unobtrusively:
  • Menu bar: StumbleUpon is on the menu bar to the right of the drop-downs.
  • Address bar: holds DownloadHelper, DownThemAll, PageSaver and TabCounter (all to the right of the search window).
  • Status bar: FEBEBackup on the left and AdBlock, NoScript and GMailNotifier on the right.

Nice and clean, just the way I like it. My office might be a disaster but my computer is immaculate!

Fine, here's a shot of my desktop. (Yeah, I have one of those square 1280x1024 monitors.)

4. No tabs or just one website open?
I have my bookmarks toolbar hidden as I find that with Firefox 3 it's just faster to start typing directly into the address window and it searches the bookmarks for matches. All I have to do is type 'd' and DU pops up as the first choice. If I need to browse my bookmarks, I can always bring them up with alt-b. (I'm a keyboard guy as it's faster for me.)

Doesn't look that different from FF, but then they are both Mozilla. I've heard FF doesn't play well on Macs.

7. Widescreen monitor I presume
I want one of those. Next time I upgrade which is soon. This is the longest I've ever held onto a system (2MHz P4) as it handles pretty much everything I need it to do.

I've had classic compact before but I just got DaumBlue to install today (I had to enable third party cookies before it would install) and I wanted to show it off.

I want a bigger monitor.

9. Actually, that screen shot was taken from my new favorite toy, an Acer Aspire 1.
It's just a really big screen cap - I suppose I should have reduced it in size, as I know how large images can trash a thread and are sometimes difficult to open.

Daum Blue is a nice looking theme. It must be new.

I wanted it as soon as I saw it. You can find it http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2009/01/a-beautiful-firefox-theme">here.

I moved my StumbleUpon button to the address bar, hid the menu bar with HideMenuBar and switched to small icons. Gained me some more space:

22. I beleive so yes....
It's a tabbed browser obviously. I've been using it for several years now. The version I currently have is about a year and change old. I'm just used to it, and like the space I have, and the set up.
I do use Firefox at work and am beginning to get used to it, so I may end up making the transition sooner or later.

Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 12:50 AM by kentauros
as when you get above 200 tabbed windows open, it starts to get a little unstable ;)
It's difficult to read because it's set up for a 1920x1200 resolution (24") screen.

24. Okay

Add-ons:

Morning Coffee (opens favorite sites with one click)
Fireshot (screen capture)
Foxclocks (no, I don't live in Chicago)
NoScript (love it!)
ChromaTabs (cause colored tabs r pretty)

The theme is Simple Green.

I like as much window as possible so I hide unneeded toolbars and excess doodads.

Incidentally, my Operating System is not Vista but XP with WindowBlinds installed.
