Am I evil for this?
I went to Target today to buy some necessities, and some not so necessities.

I saw this with a sign below that said $49.99.

So I put it in my cart, since I have been looking for something like this and it was a good price.

When I went to check out, the price rang up as $69.99. I told the cashier that there was a price of $49.99 by it in the kitchen appliance area. She had someone go check the price for me and he brought the sign back, because apparently that was last week's sale. They gave me the $49.99 price though.

I am feeling kind of guilty about it though.

The plates are removable for ease of cleaning (the one thing I hated about the Foreman grill we have - so now we will use the above and get rid of the Foreman grill).

As you've experience, Target honors the price(s) posted. If someone fails to remove sale signs, they take the loss. It's their policy.

10. There's prolly some Latin term for it in law, but
you made a "good faith" purchase — you selected that wadevahthefuckitis in the belief that its price was as marked. Target were thus required, I believe, to let you have it at that price. They did you no favor, so you've nothing to feel guilty about.

But, yeah — you're evil under any circumstances. :P

12. Yes, you should feel guilty about buying yet one more electric appliance.
Sucking up our power grid. I can't tell if it's a George Foreman or a pannini grill.
How bad did you really NEED one?
You can do about the same damn thing with a cast iron skillet.
You won't get the similar grill marks, but the end product tastes about the same.
jeez
:-(

But you get a pass on the lower price.
Don't feel guilty about that.
Target will survive...maybe?

I'm not usually this judgmental and pissy, but I've just personally ruled out buying any more electrically powered stuff.

Now... go stand in the corner.

but if it didn't have a date, or if they just wanted a satisfied repeat customer, then they were right to sell it at the lower price.

Many Target sale tags say "valid thru a/bb - x/yy" and if it's after x/yy, they point it out and you're sunk.

That may not be legal either, but the workers aren't going to care. For the piss poor pay, who would. (methinks the lovely concept "passive aggressiveness" has more to do than fighting with worthless wankers on internet discussion forums! )

I think you should pay back the difference plus pay Target for the employee's wages they spent wasting the company's time tracking down your little "sale" sign! Maybe write a letter of apology to Target corporate headquarters, too. And maybe as a result you'll get a hundred dollar gift card in appreciation for your honesty, and Earth's karma will once again achieve its rightful balance!

Don't feel guilty.
